Gerrit (René) Rotscheid

René Rotscheid is a highly respected business professional with 32 years of extensive experience in accounting, auditing, business valuations, corporate finance, and project management. He has honed his skills across diverse regions, including the Dutch Caribbean and The Netherlands, working with two of the ‘Big Four’, the largest global accounting networks in the world.

René’s professional designations, including Registeraccountant, RA, (Dutch Chartered Accountant) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) through the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, are a testament to his technical competence. In 2005, he further advanced his expertise by becoming a certified business valuator, obtaining the Register Valuator (RV) certification from the Rotterdam School of Management (RSM).

As a dedicated professional, René is an active member of several esteemed organisations. He is a member of the Netherlands Institute of Chartered Accountants (NBA), the Royal Dutch Institute of Chartered Accountants (NIVRA), and the Dutch Association of Business Valuators (NIRV).

René’s illustrious career is marked by his prominent positions, which reflect his deep expertise and leadership capabilities. Since 2022, he has served as a Director at Boon Accountants Belastingadviseurs in The Netherlands, the leading and largest independent accounting firm in the Apeldoorn region. Concurrently, he is an expert at PUM, a volunteer organisation funded by the Dutch Government that supports SMEs in over 30 countries worldwide.

Previously, René was a Partner at Boon Accountants Belastingadviseurs from 2009 to 2022, where he provided regional accounting and advisory services, managing a team of 70. His prior roles include Director at KPMG SXM Corporate Finance Practice in the Dutch Caribbean, Audit Director at Alfa Registeraccountants in The Netherlands, and Project Manager for Financial Accounting (US GAAP) at VNU, a global exhibition company.

René’s experience also extends to serving as Finance Director at Metromedia Fiber Networks in The Netherlands, which provides high-bandwidth, fibreoptic communications infrastructure to carriers, corporate entities, and the government. He was also an Audit Manager at PwC in The Netherlands, an Audit Supervisor at PwC in Aruba, and an Audit Senior at PwC (Coopers & Lybrand) in The Netherlands.

René is fluent in English and Dutch and has basic knowledge of German. He has demonstrated exceptional leadership in accounting through various high-level roles, and his career reflects a deep commitment to advancing accounting practices and supporting business growth. René’s strategic roles in corporate finance and audit management underscore his profound impact on enhancing business efficiency and financial integrity across diverse regions.
